Sheikh Mohammad Imran — popularly known as Imran Kehwah — is a Kashmiri entrepreneur, social activist, and politician. Founder and Chairman of the Kehwah Group, he has dedicated his professional life to enhancing the lives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir through inclusive development, efficient governance, and a vision of connecting tradition to technology.
A politician with a human heart — balancing deep-rooted Kashmiri traditions with a forward-looking entrepreneurial mindset built across continents.
Born in Kashmir Valley to a family of educators and entrepreneurs, Imran attended Burn Hall School then Good Shepherd International School, Ooty, before studying business administration at the University of Asia, Sharjah UAE, and later earning a computer science degree from SUNY Albany, USA.
After joining the family textile business, Imran diversified into transportation, silk yarn manufacturing, hospitality, cold storage, and Kashmiri arts and crafts retail. His luxury hotels in Pahalgam drew global visitors and created employment across the region.
As candidate for Khanyar Assembly Constituency, he launched the Khanyar Darbar campaign focused on restoring the historic soul of old Srinagar while building jobs, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and dignity for every citizen.
Supported education, health, and environment causes across Jammu and Kashmir, including blood donation drives and free medicine distribution.
Pioneer of the J&K Corporate Premier League and Downtown Premier League, nurturing cricket talent and engaging youth across the region.
Advocates peace, cooperation, and social harmony while working for the rights and dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Initiated modern agriculture projects, cold storage capacity, and horticulture support for apple growers across the valley.
