Sheikh Mohammad Imran, popularly known as Imran Kehwah, is a Kashmiri entrepreneur, social activist and politician from Ishber Nishat, Srinagar. Education & Early Life
Born and raised in Srinagar, Imran received his early education at Burn Hall School and Good Shepherd International School (Ooty), where he was active in academics, sports and leadership programs (including the Duke of Edinburgh Award). He pursued higher studies at the University of Asia (Sharjah) and later at Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Albany in the USA.
Entrepreneurship & Economic Vision
As the founder of the Kehwah Group, Imran has diversified the family trading business into transportation, silk-yarn manufacturing, hospitality, cold storage and retail of Kashmiri arts & crafts. An early adopter of modern operational practices, he has championed projects to strengthen horticulture and local value chains — including large-scale cold storage capacity to benefit apple growers and other agri-initiatives. His business philosophy is simple: connect tradition to technology and position Jammu & Kashmir on the global economic map.
Civic Initiatives & Youth Outreach
– Imran is well known for community-first programs and youth engagement:
– Launched sporting platforms like the J&K Corporate Premium League and Downtown Premier League to channel youth talent productively.
– Organized agricultural and horticultural events such as the Grower Conclave & Apple Mela, bringing farmers and experts together for technology-driven farming.

Political Vision & JKPC Role
Joining JKPC in 2025, Imran serves as State Secretary (Organisation), where he leads grassroots mobilisation, party organisation and the People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) coordination.
